Wet Scottish show succeeds

The Scottish Boat Show at The Falkirk Wheel last month, although suffering some of May's poor weather, attracted around 10,000 people, writes Mike Balmforth.

The show saw a full house of 71 exhibitors and a good deal of action on the water, including a very successful RYA "Sail in the City" which had queues of people waiting to Try-A-Boat.

And getting 216 youngsters afloat, many for the first time, over a wet weekend was no mean feat!

The show was billed as an outdoor leisure show as much as a boat show, so there were many exhibitors from the canoeing, cycling and other outdoor activity sectors, as well as holiday hire boats, and boat retailers.

The Scottish Laser dealer, Laser Scotland, had a good show, reporting a number of sales.

However, detailed figures for product sales were not available at the time of writing, but will be in the next issue of BB, along with details of next year's show dates, if available.
