New manager for Crinan Canal

David Lyon is the recently appointed customer operations manager of the Crinan Canal, writes Mike Balmforth.
Lyon: dream job
Lyon brings considerable sailing experience to the job, together with a background in project management, human resources and health and safely management; an ideal portfolio for this post.
He has signalled a more customer focused way ahead for Scotland's popular yachting waterway, such as seven day operations through the summer months. "This is a dream job for a Clyde yachtsman, " said Lyon. "This year we have sought feedback from customers, as a result of which we are introducing seven day working from before Easter to the end of September, are refurbishing shower blocks and have plans to install additional pontoons."
