Rockley sponsors Poole Afloat
01 Mar 2006
The initiative of James Sydenham of Salterns Marina, the show takes his Go Boating event a stage further by giving as many people as possible the opportunity to get out on the water for free.
Offering an intriguing thought to National Boat Shows (NBS), the event is free to all visitors. It will run at Baiter/Harbourside Park and The Quay in Poole, Dorset.
There will be exhibition stands for "relevant companies showcasing products, equipment and services in the marine/watersports industries".
Free taster sessions can be booked from a reception area at Baiter/Harbourside Park and "filtered to Poole Quay". There will also be "suitable entertainment, food and drinks offer", a display of watersports activities and larger boats displayed from Poole Quay Boat Haven at Poole Quay.
The organisers say "thousands of visitors" attended the first show with more than 600 people taking to the water on the free taster sessions.
Among the benefits for exhibitors are networking and media exposure, with press releases issued to all regional print and broadcast media, national marine and watersports titles, plus suitable national press travel writers.
National and regional media will be invited to attend the show.
The exhbitors' commitment, say organisers, is a payment of £100 + VAT to exhibit at Harbourside/Baiter Park for the event period.
