New jobs promised at Special Projects
01 May 2006
Cowes based South Boats Special Projects, which was formed when South Boats and South Marine Mouldings ceased trading and were wound up in March, is promising new jobs as it expands, writes Iain Sutherland.
The original companies, formed in 1998, built about 50 catamarans and four monohulls and numbered the RNLI, Southern Sea Fisheries and Hampshire Constabulary among its customers.
Its operation at Medina Shipyard is to be extended and the moulding operation moved there from Clarence Boatyard in East Cowes.
The company currently has 42 employees and was expecting to take on several more as business picks up.
