Yachting Olympics - demise feared.
A report in The Times said sailing might be axed because it "no longer complied with modern tastes and needs". However, the quoted Belgian member of the IOC was disowned by the organisation and sailing remains in the Olympics.
In a thin November issue of BB, it was noted that Fairline's announcement of further redundancies had caused a 48p dive in its share price down to 538p.
Simpson-Lawrence announced at the Marine Trade Show it had aquired Swiftech and Sowester was named the world's No1 distributor by Mercury Marine.
A youthful looking Alan Warren was promoted to advertisement manager of Yachting World after 13 years on the title...
