Awlgrip - 01.208

Visitors will be offered information on the latest Awlgrip coating, Awlcoat TPC, specifically designed to help boatbuilders and yards during the assembly, production and transit of yachts.

Awlcoat TPC, which was launched in June 2006, provides excellent temporary protection to the yacht's painted surface against a wide range of contaminants including dust, oil, grease and fly rust, as well as coating overspray.

When professionally applied, one application of Awlcoat TPC forms a tough, light grey protective film. Before handing the finished yacht over to the customer, the coating can be easily and completely removed at a range of temperatures to display the yacht's finish underneath.

The single component, water based coating can be applied using conventional or airless spray. For smaller areas, a standard paint roller or brush can also be used. Awlcoat TPC can be applied over Awlgrip and Awlcraft 2000 topcoats.

The Barton Mainsheet and Genoa Car System, available in three sizes for yachts up to 14 metres, has a wide choice of optional components including single take off traveller cars, double take off traveller cars and end fittings to provide customers with a personalised system that offers the right control line purchase for their requirements.

This year's season has seen the redesign and introduction of a stunningly visual, customer-friendly packaging that gives customers the information they require to make the right decision when purchasing.

Contender UK - 01.516, 01.122 or 01.423

Contender UK is sole UK distributor for Perfix, a revolutionary new patented fastener system, and Holmenkol, a new range of products which use the latest in nano technology. The company has also started distributing Nautex Premium Breathable Acrylic from Sattler, a revolutionary new fully waterproof and breathable acrylic for boat covers and sprayhoods.

Visitors to METS should visit Contender Sailcloth’s stand 01.516, Perfix International B.V.’s stand 01.122 or HOLMENKOL Sport-Technologies GmbH & Co. KG’s stand 01.423 to find out more on the products.

Perfix is a new fastener system specifically developed for marine covers and sprayhoods.  Durable and corrosion free, it offers a quick and easy method of fixing a marine cover or sprayhood to a boat. Unlike other systems currently available, Perfix does not involve any protruding pins, or sharp parts which can be liable to cause damage to clothing or feet, or can snag ropes.

Sattler Nautex Premium Breathable Acrylic is a unique material as it is both waterproof and breathable. It offers a solution to the ongoing problem of mould and corrosion damage normally associated with boat covers. Even in the harsh marine environment, Nautex keeps the inside of boats dry by letting moisture out and no water or moisture in.

Holmenkol products create a range of advanced coatings that offer advantages to performance across a variety of uses. Holmenkol coatings create low friction, and dirt and water repellent surfaces. For example, coatings applied to sails enable smooth hoists and drops, and less water retention, while a coating on the hull keeps it clean and optimises speed.

Installation is made simple with multiple wire locations and a compact design allowing the installer to position the pump in the most convenient part of the bilge.

Tacktick – 03.301

Already a DAME Award winner with its Micronet solar powered wireless instrument system, Tacktick has launched a wireless Power Boat Wind Transmitter that makes docking in a breeze much easier.  Measuring both wind speed and direction, the Micronet Power Boat Wind Transmitter has numerous advantages over traditional systems.  Being wireless and solar powered means there is no need to drill holes or run cabling to install either the transmitter or the display.

The vane can be installed by the owner simply with three screws.  The vane and the display are then paired in exactly the same way as a mobile ‘phone headset is paired with the ‘phone.  The display can then be positioned just where the helmsman needs it.  There are also no vulnerable connections so damage due to pounding seas, vibration or accidental wrenching of cables is a thing of the past.

Tacktick technology has been developed in the sailboat racing scenario and is consequently extremely robust and all Tacktick instruments are waterproof to 10m and therefore fully resistant to water over the flybridge.

Analogue displays, available in white, carbon black or grey can be mounted anywhere from the flybridge to the cockpit, even in the owners pocket!

The new Micronet Power Boat Wind Transmitter will make docking in winds much easier by ensuring accurate wind speed and direction information in the helmsman’s line of sight.
