Lottery turns down canal cash bid

A bid for nearly £19m of Lottery funding has been turned down, according to a report in the Daventry Express.
The Living Landmarks programmes, run by the Big Lottery Fund, rejected Daventry District Council's £18.7m bid to help fund the extension of the Grand Union canal and boat lift proposals.
