France's Fete du Nautisme

As Peter Poland mentions in his article, every year the French authorities get 500,000 ordinary French people out on the water during its Fete du Nautisme weekend.
I asked Philippe Fourrier, of the French marine industry association, FIN, for his thoughts on the country's enormous annual weekend of getting the people out on the water.
