McMurdo gains EPIRB type approval

McMurdo has gained COSPAS SARSAT and MED type approval for its new Smartfind EPIRB.

Hill: its a SOLAS product, so goes through MED as well

The company says the British manufactured Smartfind is the first EPIRB to achieve type approval with both a nonhazardous battery and high brightness LED locator light.
