RNLI sends out distress call
01 Sep 2006
An appeal has gone out for a home along the River Dart for an RNLI inshore lifeboat, writes Katina Read.
The base has to be near a slipway and have access for crew arriving for an emergency but the RNLI says it will consider a temporary location it is so desperate. Volunteers for the lifeboat have already stepped forward, most from marine businesses in the area and fundraisers are well on the way to meeting the estimated £200,000 cost.
