    RED DIESEL: The British Marine Federation (BMF) and the RYA met with HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) last week to discuss  the loss of the UK's derogation on red diesel, set to come into force on November 1, 2008. The talks cover the mechanics of imposing the necessary duty. 

  • Garmin signs for Middlesbrough

    SPONSORSHIP: Garmin has signed for an undisclosed sum to become the principal sponsor of Premier League Middlesbrough Football Club. 

  • Atkins takes over at boats.com

    ALL CHANGE: Ian Atkins has been appointed group general manager at boats.com and YachtWorld.com taking over the position from Jim Nolan, who will move to a consultancy role for the Dominion Enterprises group.  

  • IWA warns boaters on flooded/closed navigations

    INLAND WATERWAYS: After the recent bouts of exceptional rainfall and consequent flooding, the Inland Waterways Association (IWA) says many navigations are currently closed or restricted.
