LBS exhibitor events programme
04 Dec 2007
And NBS has tied up a deal with Thames Clippers, which has offered its branded 53-seater coach to give free transport from ExCeL to each event, including the return journey later that evening. Sounds a good deal to BB...
The packed programme kicks off on Saturday January 12 with a Ten Pin Bowling Team Challenge. The cost is £16.00 a person, payable in advance at time of booking for teams of five to have two games, plus a diner meal or buffet. The Thames Clipper coach leaves ExCeL at 20.00 and returns between 23.30 and 00.00.
Sunday January 13 sees a meal at Jamie Oliver's 'Fifteen' restaurant in Westland Place, where a maximum of 32 places have been reserved in the 'rustic Trattoria' for some typical Italian food.
The cost is £30 a head (excluding drinks and gratuities) for a three-course meal from the a la carte menu, payable in advance at time of booking. The Thames Clipper coach leaves ExCeL at 19.30 and will return around midnight. Book early as this is likely to be a popular choice...
Tuesday January 15 sees ExCeL exhibitors going for a Night at The Dogs! This takes place at Walthamstow Greyhound Racing Stadium where, for £19 a head, you get entry to the track, a race card and a meal in the Stowaway Grill overlooking the track. Everything is payable in advance - note drinks and gratuities are not included in the price.
The Thames Clipper Coach leaves ExCeL at 19.10 and will arrive at Walthamstow probably just after the first race. But as the last race starts at 22.30, you'll see plenty of racing.
Certain items on this menu (it says here) carry a supplement, which will be charged on the night.
Wednesday January 16 sees another Karting Team Challenge at Europe's biggest indoor corporate Karting circuit in Greenwich. This facility has been open just over a year, so it should all be in excellent condition.
Teams of three to 10 people are invited to challenge to see who can complete the most laps. The top three teams get trophies.
The fee is still being negotiated, but is likely to be around £250 a team, payable in advance.
The BB Karting Challenge at SBS turned into a 'very' competitive event and this one is likely to be the same...
The Thames Clipper Coach leaves ExCeL at 20.00 and returns around 23.30.
Friday January 18 is Karaoke Night! Time to get the imagination going - can you do it My Way? Time and venue to be confirmed - no admission charge - all food and drink at your own expense - turn up and belt out your favourite ABBA or Morrissey number... Or is that belt out ABBA sounding like Morrissey?
Saturday January 19 sees an 'adult' pantomime at the Brick Lane Music Hall, which is very close to ExCeL.
Big Dick Whittington will be performed by an exceptional group of players (BB is certain Portsmouth Poll was playing Widow Twankey at last year's MEEMA evening there). The show is slightly adult - a bit like a Carry On movie, or Benny Hill - very funny, but it shouldn't offend anyone.
The fee is £35 a person, which includes dinner, the show and dancing. The Thames Clipper coach leaves ExCeL at 19.30 PROMPT and returns between midnight and 00.30. NBS has 40 places reserved and this is likely to be a popular event, so book early
Bookings for all events should be made through the organising company, Assorti, which handled the SBS programme. There's a 2% processing charge per credit card transaction and all payments are to be made to Assorti Ltd.
For more information on the programme, call Andrea at Assorti on 01753 840680, or email london@assorti.co.uk
NBS is looking for sponsors for all these events. There is already interest from potential sponsors in the Brick Lane Music Hall adult pantomime and the Karting Challenge. Contact Samantha Bryant at NBS for more details on 01784 473377.
