Marina plans get consent
01 Feb 2007
A batch of new planning consents has given the green light to more Scottish marina projects, writes Mike Balmforth.
The sites that get the go-ahead are at Ardersier on the Moray Firth, at Holy Loch and Rothesay in the Clyde, and at Tobermory on Mull.
When added to the recent approval for Portavadie in Loch Fyne, this adds 1,100 berths for both resident and visiting craft to marine leisure capacity in Scotland; welcome in view of the steady demand for berths for both new boat buyers and re-locating owners from more crowded parts of Britain.
