Teignbridge expands

Teignbridge Propellers has announced expansion and upgrade plans worth nearly £2 million, writes Katina Read.
The company, based in Newton Abbot in Devon, is to relocate its foundry to its main head office site, meaning that for the first time in 18 years all the employees will be working under one roof.
New manufacturing systems and processes are also being introduced including sand reclamation - currently all of the sand used in the foundry is sent for landfill but the new investment means that up to 90% will be reclaimed.
Jonathan Shaw, managing director, said: ‘This is a significant investment from Mercury Marine, our US parent, and is a massive vote of confidence in all the members of staff of the company, particularly when bearing in mind the tough trading conditions currently prevailing in the US.’
