Overpaid, over sexed and (now) over here

Thats how BB described the acquisition of the Daventry-based Navstar by international Marine Holdings Inc of Connecticut via its subsidiary, Brookes and Gatehouse.

The 'invasion' also took in Geoffrey Warde's Marinex Group (sold to Teleflex Inc) and Autohelm (sold to Raytheon).

LIBS 'bigger than ever before'

National Boat Shows had kept stand costs down in Earls Court 1 & 2 by deciding to 'shift the emphasis of the increased cost onto the visitor' and bumping the £6.00 adult price up by a whopping £1.50 to £7.50.

BB backed the move, even though it might keep people away, by following the 'it's the quality of visitor and not the quantity that counts' mantra.  I wonder what Chris Murdoch and the other retailers think of that now?

According to East Coast correspondent Bill Smith, Murray Ellis of NBS wanted applications for space at the 1993 East Coast Boat Show returned by the end of January.

Those were the days, eh whatever happened to Martin Holliman?

And Sam Taylor-Nobbs moved from Aqua-Marine to Seafarer International as UK sales manager.
