New design competition

Clyde Cruising Club has announced a design competition for a yacht of 10-11m length, suitable for cruising and racing on the Clyde and the West Coast of Scotland, writes Mike Balmforth.

The boat must be able to use the Crinan Canal, so the maximum dimensions are 6.09m (20ft) beam, draught 2.89m (9ft 6in) and mast height 28.95m (95ft).

The entry should show basic lines, sail and accommodation plans, together with a dimensions/ specification summary and a 500 word description.  The winning designer will be presented with a half model of his creation.  Details from the CCC at clyde.org - final entry date April 30, 2007
