Dover’s centre of maritime excellence

South Kent College in Dover has received funding in principal from the Learning & Skills Centre to develop a new state-of-the art campus in Dover town centre, writes Iain Sutherland.
In developing this new facility the vision is for Dover Further Education College to become a vocational centre of excellence for the maritime industry providing courses, training, accommodation and hospitality expertise.
There will be a focus on upskilling local people, whilst developing strong links with European partners together with academic institutions and maritime sector businesses.
