TEAMORIGIN to appear at London and Southampton
26 Jun 2007
National Boat Shows (NBS) has tied up a deal with Sir Keith Mills’ TEAMORIGIN, the British sailing team intending to bid for the 33rd and 34th America’s Cup.
Mills' team recently bought SUI75 from the Alinghi team. Built at the Decision Boatyard in Vevey, Switzerland, she was used in pre-regatta Acts in 2005-2006 for testing and racing and was developed alongside SUI 64.
Alinghi used SUI 64 to win the 31st America’s Cup but there was little perceived performance difference between the two boats.
The boat will be re-branded as GBR75 and will appear in the Hydropool marina at Southampton in full TEAMORIGIN livery.
‘Featuring our first fully liveried TEAMORIGIN race training boat at the Southampton Boat Show is the perfect platform to gain the public’s support behind our bid for sailing glory,’ said Sir Keith Mills.
● As we closed this newsletter we learned National Boat Shows has become a supporting sponsor for the upcoming Skandia Life Cowes Week event.
‘By becoming a sponsor we are engaging with our core sailing audience, forging greater relationships with the boating community and promoting the National Boat Shows portfolio of shows,’ said NBS MD Andy Williams.
