Some 290 people took the full hospitality package and free tickets were distributed through the industry, resulting in crowded stands and a plentiful supply of punters for the welcoming arms of the bookies.

And the day was good for another well known local as south coast football and racing legend Mick Channon claimed the top trainer award and took home the Rodman Boats Leading Trainer Award

It was another opportunity for the UK leisure marine industry to enjoy a fantastic day of top quality racing – and they were able to do so in glorious sunshine once the early clouds had cleared to leave a beautiful day. ‘It was another fantastic event,’ said Peters. ‘It's a wonderful source of relaxation, a great source of networking and it’s one of the few days off we get in the boating industry at this time of year.’
