01 Jun 2007
It will cost £30,000 to bring a two-day programme of Honda
powerboat racing to Lowestoft this summer, but instead of hard cash, most of
the money will be support in kind, writes Debbie Cowan.
The Honda F4 series gives some of the very best in powerboat racing
Three major benefactors have each pledged sponsorship towards bringing the prestigious formula four-stroke grand prix to the town on Saturday and Sunday, July 28 and 29.
Local Honda dealer Lings and Lowestoft Seafront Air Festival Limited will put up sponsorship of £10,000 each, while Waveney District Council's contribution will see £5,000 redirected from its economic regeneration budget and £5,000 from culture, tourism and sport….
The money will support the marketing, promotions, corporate networking and business support connected with the proposed Honda Formula 4 powerboat racing event on Lowestoft seafront in July 2007.
