Sims offers his helmet for charity

Andy Sims, operations director of Cooney Marine, is preparing to take on a major challenge for the MotoGP-backed charity Riders for Health www.riders.com

Sims said this is a great charity making a real difference to the lives of millions of desperate Africans, living a life that we could not possibly imagine where just £10 provides health care for 100 people.

The transport solutions the charity provides - mainly motorbikes - really do make the difference between life and death for these people.

Riding an off road motorbike across some 3500km of the roughest terrain in South Africa over 10 days in the Enduro Africa event, Sims’ riding skills and fitness will be tested to the max www.enduroafrica.com

Sims has currently raised over £5000 towards his target of £10000 by selling sponsorship space on his riding kit and a sponsored weight loss. ‘It’s amazing how much weight you can lose if you stop eating chocolate biscuits and drinking beer,’ says Sims...

Company sponsorship space on the riding gear is still available. For those who might like to sponsor Sims’ helmet, Carrie McSwan can be seen cuddling it on page XX of this issue. In addition to financial help, Sims is also looking for donations of camping gear.

Individual donations can also be placed on his charity web site www.justgiving.com/andrewsims

Sims would be happy to discuss the challenge and any other sponsorship ideas call him at Cooney Marine on 01536 484481 or email on Andrew@cooneymarine.co.uk
