The Combination Units offer full VGA and SVGA displays and the Northstar Explorer 660, 657 and 650 offer powerful combination plotter and sounder options. All offer external GPS antenna, 600W dual frequency 200/50kHz sounder and SmartCraft integration.

The Explorer 660 features a 7.2in super high resolution SVGA colour screen while the Explorer 650 and 657 feature a 5in high-resolution, VGA colour screen. The 657 also supports the Automatic Identification System (AIS) allowing the device (when connected with compatible AIS receivers) to display information about commercial vessels equipped with AIS transponders in a 50km range. Speed, heading, draft, closest point of approach (CPA), call sign, port of origin, final destination and cargo details can be shown.

The Northstar line includes six new chartplotters, the Explorer 567, 557, 550 and 550i, and the 538 and 538i. The Explorer 567 and 557 feature 6.4in and 5in, respectively, high-resolution, full VGA colour displays, come preloaded with a base map of the entire world and offer full AIS support.

The compact Explorer 538 & 538i sport the smallest footprint in the new chartplotter line. Both devices feature 3.8in colour displays. All Explorer chartplotters are C-MAP MAX, NT+ and NT compatible; SmartCraft enabled; and are supplied with cables, flush-mount kits and a swivel-tilt mounting bracket.
