SEEDA wants to see the site retained for marine industry use and, with the critical shortage for such sites in the south east area, this is one solution that will give companies a chance to remain in the region.

‘We are delighted to see this superb waterfront site safeguarded for marine employment and wealth creation,’ said Jonathan Williams, chief executive of Marine South East. ‘However, through the Waterfront Strategy, which we have been working on with SEEDA, we need to ensure that marine companies continue to have priority access to sites such as these.’

Marine South East and SEEDA are holding a Waterfront Strategy workshop at Southampton Football stadium on Friday April 27.

The event is open to marine businesses in the region and will be an opportunity for them to have a say on the future of the waterfront in the region.

If you would like to take part in the workshop, which will be bringing together the main themes of the strategy and discussing them in greater detail email admin@marinesoutheast.co.uk
