‘I was always on a three month contract,’ he told Boating Business, ‘so I’m off to Abu Dhabi to run a motor racing exhibition.’

Mrs Streeter, aka Andrea Plaice, has handed in her notice to the British Marine Federation (BMF), where she was secretary to chief executive Rob Stevens, and will join Streeter on July 1.

With the F1 Grand Prix going to Abu Dhabi in 2009, there’s a huge amount of interest out there, said Streeter.

Streeter was managing director of National Boat Shows (NBS) for six years, during which he masterminded the industry’s move from Earls Court to its current home at ExCeL in Docklands.
