Superyacht designer on the move

The firm has been designing cutting-edge yachts from a converted barn near Wickham for the past 20 years but aims to be in prestigious new riverfront headquarters by the end of the year.
Planning permission has been granted for a 6,000 sq ft unit, currently known as ‘Shed Two’ to be constructed at the 64-acre marina.
It is a major step in the £4m redevelopment of Universal, which has seen virtually all the buildings replaced or upgraded and the marina itself completely rebuilt, including a new hoist dock. Bought in 1997 by Avia Willment which amalgamated the Crableck Boatyard with Universal Marina, the site has been used for traditional shipbuilding as far back as the Second World War.
