Planning permission for Billinge Green Marina
01 Nov 2007
The first application for a marina in such an environmentally sensitive area was refused after a campaign led by the Inland Waterways Association’s Chester & District Branch; including a petition presented to Vale Royal District Council along with 62 other objections.
Ripple Developments made another application, subsequently withdrawn, then an appeal to the secretary of state against the original refusal which was to be dealt with by way of an inquiry.
The Planning Inspectorate was not due to consider this until early 2008. However, despite 19 objections, planning permission has been granted – with 25 conditions - on another new application.
