Torquay to get 150 berths in £1.1m project
01 Nov 2007
The company will work with Solent Marine and Docking Solutions to construct the pontoons which are being manufactured off site.
Piling is due to be carried out in January and the town dock should be completed by March, providing 150 berths.
Harbour users will be asked to move their vessels from current swinging moorings over the winter to make space for the piling work and existing berth holders will be contacted about the new arrangements early next year. The £1.1m project will replace the 50 swing moorings currently in Torquay’s inner harbour.
The new floating pontoons will have water and electricity and a winch to improve access for boat owners with a disability.
