The sales figure includes €93.9m for IRM, the newly acquired mobile home manufacturer that was incorporated into the group's accounts from January 1 this year. On a like-for-like basis, sales were up by 11.4% to €920m.
The French group says its Bénéteau, Jeanneau, CNB, Lagoon and Wauquiez boat brands noted a 9.7% increase in sales to €798.9m. On a constant exchange rate basis, this growth comes out at 10.5%.
The company also claims to have increased its market share in both the sail and powerboat markets. Year-end sailboat revenues grew by 10.5% on average rates and 11.6% on constant rates to €527.4m. This sector now accounts for some 52% of the company's total sales. Powerboat sales were up by 10.2% this year to €253m.
For its Microcar brand, Bénéteau noted a 16.1% leap in sales to €61.2m, while sales of O'Hara mobile homes climbed by 33% to €59.9m. Together with IRM's contribution, O'Hara managed to generate some €153.8m in sales, representing 15% of the group's total business.
This higher than forecast level of consolidated sales confirms Bénéteau's objective to achieve a net margin rate representing 8.8% of sales.
