The occasion was used by Sir Keith, whose Team Origin will mount Britain’s challenge for the 33rd America’s Cup, to name his team members, including funding partner Charles Dunstone of Carphone Warehouse fame, and team skipper triple Olympic medallist, Ben Ainslie OBE.

The rest of Team Origin - on and off water crews – also took to the main stage for the opening ceremony. This group will take Team Origin towards its ultimate goal of winning the America's Cup, the oldest sporting trophy in the world and the only major sports trophy Britain has yet to win...

Team Origin is a commercially-led team that will run on a mixture of private and sponsor funding from the likes of Dunstone.

‘I'm happy to announce Charles Dunstone has decided to join me as a partner in financing this project,’ said Sir Keith, ‘something that I believe lends enormous credibility to the seriousness of this campaign.’

Dunstone, a keen amateur sailor, has a strong personal interest in Team Origin as many members of his crew from previous campaigns have joined the team.
