Gill used the opportunity to open its latest collaboration programme with leading retailers, with half of the store being devoted to a Gill ‘shop within a shop’ showing the company’s entire range.

‘We decided early on that collaborating with our retailers was a far better strategy than competing against them,’ said Gill chairman Nick Gill. ‘So instead of opening our own shops, we have begun a programme of working closely with key retailers in a dedicated Gill area.’

The customer gets better choice and the specialist retailer has access to our full technical training programmes, he added. ‘So far,’ he said, ‘it has been a huge success.’
