Peters crash hits Kip
28 Aug 2007
Profitable in both new boat sales and brokerage, Ewan Kellock and Peter Cameron had 12 brokerage sales in progress when the storm broke.
They have both have been re-employed by receivers KPMG on a temporary basis to deal with transactions in progress, but others at the Kip site have been laid off. How long the administrator will maintain this stance will depend on what interest is shown in the company by potential buyers, but in the meantime Peter Cameron has indicated his interest to Bavaria in taking the agency forward on a local basis if Peters~Opal is not sold intact.
The Second Hand Boat Show in October is certain to go ahead, with or without the Peters~Opal presence, a situation that will place a greater onus than usual on Kip Marina staff.
Boating Business understands that local creditors have been paid up to a fairly recent date, which will be but slight consolation to those who are owed for current business.
