Marine South West – the marine arm of the South West Regional Development Agency – has £50,000 to invest in the pilot project that will cover the area from Teignmouth to Plymouth.

Businesses will receive free tailor-made advice, together with workshops and training on how to cut down on their consumption and waste as well as increasing their awareness of environmental issues.

‘Last year Groundwork Devon & Cornwall carried out research among Devon marine businesses and found they needed help to manage their environmental performance,’ said Adam Corney, executive director of Marine South West.

This project will give them the tools to do that and we have chosen to target an area where there is a high concentration of marine businesses, he added.

Businesses interested in taking part in the project can contact Corney at Marine South West on 01752 606100.
