Getting to grips with non-slip

The Isagi range of soft, coloured fabrics is made of a non-slip foam melded onto a PVC mesh supported by polyester fibres.

The unique manufacturing process produces a hardwearing fabric which is not sticky, or stretchy, but grips on both sides - making it a good choice for boat interiors.

These fabrics are durable with an open attractive weave structure which allows air to circulate, preventing the growth of mould and mildew (score another point for boat furnishing). They are odourless and washable, and can be cut easily with a pair of scissors to any size or shape.

Isagi is also introducing a completely new line of self adhesive coverings: the unusual fabric has the tactile feel of suede, and comes on a roll for cutting to any size. The faux suede comes in taupe, tan and chocolate colours.

The company has also recently launched its line of non-slip melamine cookware: the first to be introduced are three bowls ranging in size from 17cm to 26cm diameter, all in a rich, chilli pepper red with a pure white interior. Used for mixing and preparation of food, they are also attractive enough to be used for serving direct to the table.
