The marina, which is being developed as part of the venue for sailing events for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, will see a cooperative venture between Southern Motorboats and Sea Ventures, resulting in the establishment of one of the largest Jeanneau showrooms in the UK.

As many events are planned to take place throughout the Portland area in 2012, the companies expect the site to attract a large customer base: this will come about as more marine support engineers and staff move into the area in preparation for the games.

Construction has already begun at the site at Osprey Quay, Portland, owned by Dean & Reddyhoff Marinas and will house 600 berths in total. As well as factory and sales space for marine-related businesses, there will also be a 6,500 sq ft restaurant.

The marina is due for completion in October 2008, and the two companies are looking to move its complement of four staff to the premises at the beginning of 2009.
