Help for companies suffering skills shortages, training issues and apprenticeship dilemmas

TRAINING: If yours is a marine company experiencing skills shortages, training issues and apprenticeship dilemmas, Marine South East has got a free event that will provide information on the opportunities and support for training, workforce development and apprentices in the marine sector.

Marine South East is partnering with Flagship Training, Gosport Borough Council and Marine South East to bring a variety of speakers along to provide information, including specific presentations on:

• A general introduction to Flagship Training including its partnering agreement with the Royal Navy and its training schools

• Flagship’s Apprenticeship scheme

• Technical training opportunities for the marine sector at HMS Sultan

• The recently launched Flagship Superyacht Academy offering Superyacht crew training, development and sourcing

• How marine companies can access funding for training

• Marine South East marine apprentice training initiative

The event will include a unique opportunity for marine companies to tour the extensive and wide-ranging training facilities at HMS Sultan including the woodworking training workshop, GRP and composites training facilities and the main engineering machine shop.

The event will conclude with a networking reception over drinks and canapés in Flagship’s ‘buzzing hub’ interactive training area and is free for all marine companies to attend.

This comprehensive event will take place on Tuesday April 29, 2008 from 15.00 to 19.00pm at HMS Sultan, Vulcan Entrance, Grange Road, Gosport PO12 3BY.
