Get the fuel story
01 Aug 2008
MarineFuelPoint.com aims to allow boat owners to find any national waterside fuel supply within just a few clicks.
The site has been prompted by the present climate of spiralling prices and concerns that cheaper UK red diesel could soon cease to be available to commercial and leisure boaters.
Graeme Bissett, owner of Fulwell Marine Services and MarineFuelPoint.com says, 'From experience of buying marine fuels for large commercial ships I know you can really save money by shopping around, but up until now there has been no easy way for the boating community to do it.'
As well as mapping red diesel and petrol fuel points, the website is capable of listing suppliers of LPG and biodiesel, which – although in their infancy at the moment – could prove to be the fuels of the future.
Other features of the site include a ‘Base Directory’, listing a wide range of other marine-related products and services for boating, diving and fishing enthusiasts. There are also plans to add a mariners’ forum in the coming months. For more information visit www.marinefuelpoint.com.
