Monster money for Leviathan

The 1920s poster of the US Lines liner SS Leviathan was bought by an anonymous collector at Christie's annual Ocean Liner-themed auction.

Experts credited the astronomical price to three factors: the bold and dramatic graphic style; growing market interest in US Lines memorabilia and the fascination for the SS Leviathan, which was billed in the poster as the 'world's largest ship.'

There was, of course, a fourth factor: two people wanted it - a lot.
