Mr Jungmichel joined Messe Düsseldorf at the beginning of January this year. He gained an initial insight into the exhibition during boot 2008 and, together with present director Abdul-Rahman Adib, started working on the 2009 event.

From July 2008, Mr Jungmichel headed the boot team, with Mr Adib acting as a consultant prior to letting go of the reins entirely when he retires later this year.

Mr Jungmichel comes from his directorship of the Pirmasens trade fair and events company.

The 40th boot-Düsseldorf is the world’s largest international indoor event for yachting and watersports. An anticipated 1,700 exhibitors will showcase their products and services in 17 halls covering an area of 220,000 sq m of exhibition space.
