The innovative system offers joystick control that makes manoeuvring extremely easy – seen by dealers as a huge plus point for potential new powerboat owners.

‘With this we can secure another competitive advantage and serve the steadily growing number of newcomers with an easy to handle and functional docking system, said a dealer statement.

The Axius system is currently available only with petrol engines, but plans to launch diesel powered options are advanced and early summer 2008 is thought to be on the cards.

Bavaria, long associated with Volvo Penta, says it decided to take up the Axius system after ‘various difficulties and problems with Volvo engines in the past year’.
