Seaplane service links Glasgow and Mull

Following the success of frequent daily flights to Oban from the River Clyde in Glasgow City Centre, Scotland’s newest airline, Loch Lomond Seaplanes, is to begin regular flights to Mull.
Loch Lomond Seaplanes will be flying up to four times a day to Tobermory harbour from next spring, reducing travelling time to and from Glasgow to just 31 minutes. The Oban service takes just 22 minutes.
‘The service, using our nine seat Cessna 208, is modelled on our highly successful Oban route and will run from March through to November,’ said David West, director and founder of Loch Lomond Seaplanes. ‘This service makes it possible to leave work on a Friday afternoon and be on board before supper. A full weekend of sailing and boating can be had before heading back to the city for Monday morning.’
The Oban service uses Oban Marina as its 'terminal', from where passengers who are not joining yachts are ferried to Oban's North Pier.
‘A 25% discount on Loch Lomond Seaplanes' flights is available to Oban Marina berth holders, their crews and family and friends, so we think this will attract a number of South Coast owners to keep their boats in Western Scotland for a season or longer,’ marina manager Susan Price told Boating Business.
