Select gets funding for club racer

SOUTH WEST: A new boat to be built in Cornwall has been backed with £50,000 funding from Finance Cornwall, writes Katina Read.
The Link 30 is to be aimed at club racers and will be built by The Select Yacht Group based near Rock.
Select owner Frank Colam believes there is a gap in the market for a one-design, quality racing yacht and secured the funding which will enable the company to build a demonstration boat and make moulds for the production of the boat.
The Link 30 will be the latest in a line of boats built by Select which builds motor boats and yachts and three years ago bought Hunter boats.
The new boat, which has been designed by David Thomas, will be a sister vessel to Hunter’s Mystery 35.
A Link 30 hull will be on display at the Collins Stewart London Boat Show at ExCeL.
