2008 has been no exception with Side-Power releasing its new ranges of 5-blade skew propellers and, possibly more significantly, an exclusive and unique stern thruster system.

The SX stern thruster is the only system on the market exclusively designed for use on boats with sterndrives.

The unique design allows the unit to be installed quickly and efficiently whilst offering the opportunity for owners of boats with sterndrives to have an effective thruster system installed in the stern.

The SX unit utilises special cowls to enable good performance by diverting the water flow past the stern drive legs, which normally block water flow and thrust. The unit comes pre-assembled, wired and sealed in the waterproof box and only requires a small hole in the boat’s transom to attach the power and control cables. The cable connection points are fully sealed, so that the unit is suitable for installation in gasoline powered boats. It's also suitable for either installation at build stage or for retro fitting.
