Earls Court Boat Show re-brands

BOAT SHOW: The Earls Court Boat Show has re-branded itself as The New Boat Show at Earls Court. In a statement the organisers said the move was intended 'to further differentiate it from shows of the past that were organised by National Boat Shows (NBS) and the British Marine Federation (BMF)'.

The organisers have also launched a new website at boatshow247.com 'to increase exposure for exhibitors of the show throughout the year, in front of a global market', says the statement.

‘It became clear to us during the 2007 show that the BMF and NBS were concerned about any confusion there may be between our show and shows previously run by NBS,’ said The New Boat Show at Earls Court’s managing director, James Brooke. ‘We have listened to these concerns and re-branded our show, which is great news for both London shows and will be to the benefit of all exhibitors.’

This is the start of an exciting new era for us as we develop our show with a brand new concept, added Mr Brooke. ‘We’re bringing the show out of Earls Court and creating a continuous boat show that will run via boatshow247.com . Visitors to the site will have the opportunity to learn about products and exhibitors throughout the year, before coming to the show with a view to buying.’

It’s all about interaction, said Mr Brooke, and the more we can do to promote the products that our exhibitors are displaying, the better. But BB wonders if having the show known as ‘The NBS at Earls Court’ will be viewed as helpful by those at Egham…

Mr Brooke also said the new brand will be in action during Skandia Cowes Week this year as the show is committed to be an Official Associate of the event. 'This will give us an official platform to market our show to the 100,000 Cowes Week visitors.'
