ECBS uses Caravan Show 'dry dock' feature

BOAT SHOW: The Earls Court Boat Show (ACBS) has taken a leaf out of the National Caravan show's book and is to run a 'dry dock' feature alongside the central pool feature at this year's show. 'Many new exhibitors identified this as a successful feature of the National Caravan and Boat Show in Birmingham,' said ECBS MD James Brooke.

At the Earls Court Boat Show, boats are the stars of the show, he added, not the stands and the new dry dock berths have been designed to take yachts and motor boats, so it's now possible to exhibit a 30ft yacht from £3,900 with no stand design or build costs.

The ECBS went to the Beaulieu Boat Jumble in April to launch its Privilege loyalty card scheme with Steve Curtis MBE heading the promotion. The same promotion was run at last weekend's RIBEX in Cowes

'The cards are proving to be extremely popular and will enable us to increase the number of high quality visitors at the 2008 Earls Court Boat Show in November,' said Mr Brooke, who also said the show's 5-day concept had been well received.

'We've received so much positive feedback from exhibitors,' he said. 'Many international boat shows run over a similar period, which substantially reduces the costs of exhibiting at a show.'
