  • IWA blasts BW for Cotswolds withdrawal

    INLAND WATERWAYS: Following the announcement by British Waterways (BW) that it had suddenly and without warning withdrawn funding from the Cotswold Canals restoration partnership, the Inland Waterways Association (IWA) issued what it called 'a prompt and assertive press release' highlighting its concerns at the BW move.

    ACQUISITION: Two world-leading marine antenna manufacturers are now under single ownership after the US Shakespeare Electronic Products Group, a business unit of Jarden Applied Materials, announced the acquisition of Communication Aerials.

    BOAT SHOW: The 2008 Earls Court Boat Show (ECBS) has been cut from 10 days to five days. According to MD James Brooke: 'After a long period of discussion with existing exhibitors and many new exhibitors, we have decided to make two fundamental changes that we believe our exhibitors will benefit from.'
