Marlow supplies top race boats with bespoke solutions

Paul Honess commented: "This factory is now doing exactly what it was set up to do which is supply top race boat teams with bespoke solutions for every application on board.
"We have developed and made ropes with high performance materials such as PBO, Vectran®, Dyneema® SK78, Dyneema® SK75, Technora®, and Aramid. We have also supplied unique new constructions, machine tapers, colour coding for cores and covers as well as pioneering a new 'Dri' treatment to keep water out of ropes reducing weight which is critical in these campaigns".
Marlow has also been working hard with the smaller boat market and is currently testing a super pre-stretched Dyneema® SK78 on Foiling Moths this will replace the wire standing rigging thus reducing the weight of these boats further.
A new product on general release is Excel Fusion 75 which was developed in conjunction with the Skandia RYA Team GBR. This rope was designed to give optimum performance as a sheet rope while keeping the weight low due to the light winds in Beijing.
