With eight weeks to go to the first show 175 companies have booked, only 25 short of the target. The website saw 29,000 different visitors as the advertising campaign sponsored by Sailing Today and CSL magazines rolled out across the UK, .

This year the events also have the support of the British Marine Federation (BMF) and National Boat Shows (NBS), with NBS MD Andrew Williams attending on the Friday to open the show.

Several MPs and Welsh Assembly members are also expected to attend on the Friday.

Industry interest in exhibiting at the shows has, say the organisers, been boosted by several factors, one being a double page spread in the regional newspaper giving coverage to many of the companies supporting the events and another the organisers' infectious enthusiasm for the project.

The North Wales Boat Show runs Friday 13 to Sunday 15 June at Margam Park and the South Wales Boat Show runs Friday 25 to Sunday 27th July at the Vaynol Estate.
