Help us celebrate BB's 25th Anniversary

ANNIVERSARY: This year marks the 25th Anniversary of Boating Business as you all know and love it. The title was originally owned by Carlton Communications and produced as an A4 magazine.

The editor then was Nancy Shawcross, who we seem to remember also edited a directory called Boat World before moving to Boating Business before it was bought by Robert Hall, who hired Peter Nash as editor and the pair made BB the magazine that has led the way for the UK leisure marine industry over the past 25 years.

BB’s June edition will be our bumper 25th Anniversary issue to coincide with the party we’ll be throwing on the dockside at the Seawork Exhibition on June 11.

The issue will be a look back at the last 25 years, with articles from Brian Pilcher and Iain Sutherland, plus a look at some of the products that were around in those days.

And we’d like your help in remembering those days. Let us have your memories to share with the industry: just a couple of paragraphs is all we need - maybe it's your company's anniversary as well...

Ideally we want amusing memories and anecdotes to help bring back the realities of those days and bring a smile to people’s faces in the best traditions of BB.

The product that didn’t perform as planned. The event that didn’t go quite right. The hurried selling of anything on the stand to pay for the flight home after someone went bust is one of the stories we’ve heard so far.

That’s along with the congratulations that are coming in from the industry. BB has played a part in this industry – help us remember the good (and amusing) times over the past 25 years and take us into our next 25 years...
