Boss gets £20m US order
Craig Craft of Peterborough landed a £20m order for 2,500 of its newly launched Boss jet boats that had been shown for the first time at the Miami Boat Show in February.

Heseltine for B-MEC
The British Marine Exhibition & Conference (B-MEC) was to have Michael Heseltine, president of the Board of Trade (as Mr Heseltine used to call the Department of Trade and Industry), as the keynote conference speaker.

Neil Mackley joined Diamond Sailmakers. He joined Bob Lankester, Dave Williams, Russell Pickthall and Nigel Young – Tamzine London had joined Blakes Marine Paints, replacing Martin Brace – Verity Woodward joined Cetrek from Sports Boat Magazine – Ian Thomson joined Nauticalia to take charge of exhibition press relations.
