Bénéteau buys out Jeanneau
Bénéteau’s bid to buy out Jeanneau came as a Christmas present to chairman/president Annette Roux and a major surprise to the rest of the marine industry.
Annette Roux beat off Vendée Zodiac, Dufour and the major shareholder Felix Chatellier.

Fraud squad called to marina
The Fraud Squad was called in to investigate the affairs of the Westrec (UK) marina management operation, which was believed to have debts of £500,000 and possibly much more in the UK and Europe.

Robin Petherbridge, formerly creative director at Osprey RMA, set up Creative Partners; Nicholas Creed was appointed marketing and new business manager at Kemp Masts; Derek Carter was named as the chairman and managing director of Fairline Boats when Sam Lewington retires later in the year.
